The star attraction for 2019 is a replica of the iconic Hurricane Plane; dubbed the ‘workhorse of World War Two’, the Hurricane was a single seat fighter plane that took 60 per cent of the RAF’s air victories in the Battle of Britain, and served in other major battles during the course of the war. The Hawker Hurricane is one of the classic fighters of all time and played a major part in achieving the victory of 1945, it is a must see for all plane enthusiasts!
Once again there will be a wonderful mix of local exhibits from Island Farm, Barry at War, Porthcawl Museum, 1940s Swansea Bay, PAST Lives, Bridgend Local and District History Society, Military Vehicles Trust as well as professional displays and exhibits from all around the country.
This year’s event will feature music from International Vocalist & Trumpeter Ricky Hunter, 1940s Forces Sweetheart Kitty Lamare and the captivating Colin Bourdiec as George Formby.
This year as part of the event, there will be a service at the war memorial and raising of the flags to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
